Quick answer: To create a link for an image, upload the file, wait for validation, and copy the direct URL. ImageToURL also formats the same result for Markdown and HTML so you do not have to write embed syntax by hand.
Public-link clarity
Anyone with the URL can view
R2-backed storage
Cloudflare R2 stores and serves each image
No signup first
Basic upload stays direct
Removal path
Stable links remain manageable
How it works
Three clear steps from a local file to usable link syntax.
- 01
Add the source image
Select a JPG, PNG, WebP, or GIF from your device or clipboard.
- 02
Receive a direct link
The file is validated and prepared for public browser access.
- 03
Use the right format
Copy a plain URL for chat, Markdown for docs, or HTML for a page.
Where image links fit
Use a direct image link when the destination accepts a URL instead of a file.
Chat and support
Send a compact link when an attachment is blocked or too cumbersome.
Markdown documents
Place screenshots in GitHub issues, README files, and technical notes.
CMS fields
Provide an external image source to a blog, store, or no-code builder.
Shareable references
Give collaborators a URL that opens the image without another interface.
A converter with one clear output
No album setup, social feed, or complex sharing permissions stand between the file and its link.
Clear public links
Each result is made for browsers and embeds, not a private dashboard or expiring share screen.
Clipboard-ready
Paste a screenshot directly into the workbench instead of saving and reopening it.
Deletion stays possible
The upload model includes a deletion path, so a stable link does not mean losing control.
No account for the first link
Guest uploads start without an account. Signing in adds history and higher limits.
Direct URL, Markdown, and HTML are not the same
A direct URL is the raw address of the hosted image. It is the best choice for chat, CMS fields, CSS, API payloads, and any form that specifically asks for an image URL.
Markdown and HTML wrap that same address in syntax understood by documents and web pages. The image is hosted once; only the copied text changes.
Output formats
- Direct URL: https://cdn.example.com/image.jpg
- Markdown:
- HTML: <img src="https://cdn.example.com/image.jpg" alt="Alt text">
Use public links intentionally
A link can be forwarded, embedded, or indexed after it appears on a public page. Remove confidential information, confirm that you own the image, and keep the deletion credential if you upload without an account.
For screenshots, check the edges of the image for email addresses, account names, browser tabs, or internal URLs before creating the link.
Image link versus shared album
A direct image link is designed for embedding. A shared album is designed for browsing and permissions.

Safety first
Public links are visible to anyone who has the URL. Do not upload confidential or illegal content. Rights holders and affected people can report a link for review.
Frequently asked questions
Clear answers about public image links, supported files, and control after upload.
How do I make a clickable link for an image?
First create the direct image URL here. To make the image clickable on a web page, wrap it in an HTML anchor or use linked-image Markdown supported by your destination.
Can I paste a screenshot instead of choosing a file?
Yes. Focus the upload workbench and paste an image from your clipboard. Text-only clipboard content is ignored.
What is the difference between a direct link and a viewer page?
A viewer page wraps the image in someone else’s site, ads, and buttons. A direct link answers with the image file itself, so it embeds cleanly in documents, chats, and image fields with no detour.
Can I replace the image but keep the same link?
No. Links are immutable by design — a URL always serves the exact image it was created for. To update the image, upload the new version and share the fresh link, then delete the old one if needed.
Does the image link unfurl in Discord and Slack?
Yes. Paste the direct URL into Discord, Slack, or most chat apps and it expands into an inline image preview, because the link serves the image rather than a web page.
Is the generated image link public?
Yes. Anyone who has the direct URL can open the image. Upload only files you have the right to share, and do not use the service for confidential images.
Can I remove an image after uploading it?
Yes. Every guest upload receives a deletion credential. Keep it with the link so you can remove the object later.
